Rabbi Mendel Chein was born and raised in Cheadle, UK. His parents, Rabbi Peretz and Chavi Chein, are the directors of Chabad of Cheadle - Chai Network. From a very young age, Mendel grew up in an environment of always being there for others, loved assisting his parents in all of their events and programs, and always helping out within the local community.

Mendel pursued his studies in various Yeshivas, including Manchester, Moscow, Israel and New York, ultimately receiving his Rabbinic ordination at the Central Chabad Yeshiva in Brooklyn.

Mrs. Rivkah Chein was born and raised in New London, Connecticut, USA. Her parents, Rabbi Avraham and Maryashi Sternberg, are the directors of Chabad of Eastern Connecticut. When she reached 9th grade, Rivkah travelled to Brooklyn, New York, to attend Beis Rivkah High School. After graduating, Rivkah attended Seminary in Tzfat, Israel, where she further advanced her studies for another year.

Following her return from Israel, Rivkah, with a passion for teaching, began teaching at the Beis Rivkah School, and alongside her regular teaching, she taught weekly at a Sunday Hebrew School in New Jersey. Rivkah also spent many summers working for and leading Camp Gan Israel day camps around the world, including Canada, Germany, Connecticut, and California.

Both Mendel and Rivkah have always dreamt of being able to share with others the warmth and joy of Judaism, which they had both witnessed and experienced growing up in their homes and communities respectively.

Rabbi Mendel and Rivkah along with their children, now live in Hale to lead and direct Chabad of Trafford, which is primarily focused towards serving Jewish families and individuals living throughout the South of Trafford, particularly those living in and around Hale. They are committed to assisting and enhancing Jewish practice, culture and education for each and every individual as they feel comfortable.
